They met while attending Brigham Young University. Floyd is President\/CEO of the Asian American Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS) in Washington, D.C. He has been the Executive Director\/CEO and National President of the Japanese American Citizens League (JACL). They have been involved with the Japanese American community for many years and have tried to help educate others on the experiences of Americans of Japanese ancestry over the years, including when 120,000 persons of Japanese descent were forcibly removed from their homes on the West Coast of the United States and incarcerated in American concentration camps.
