Review Quotes:
"With an emotional roller coaster as complex and misunderstood as depression, The Mindfulness Workbook for Depression provides as much clarity of technique as it does hope for a positive outcome. In concise, clear language, Yoon Im Kane distills invaluable practices to integrate left brain with right, head with heart, doing with being, and sadness/fear with joy. The streamlining of her own lived experience with her basic suggested blueprints adds a particular poignancy to the strength and wisdom of her approach. I leave my experience with this book grateful for its lessons and eager to keep applying its impact in my own life." --Khleber Chapman Attwell, M.D., M.P.H., Former Clinical Director of Medical Student Mental Health Service, Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, and Author of 100 Questions and Answers About Anxiety

Learn to lead a more positive life through mindfulness

Mindfulness, the practice of living in the moment, can be an effective and empowering tool for managing depression. The Mindfulness Workbook for Depression will teach you how to practice mindfulness using simple exercises to help you build self-awareness and break through negative thought patterns.

What sets this depression workbook apart from other mindfulness journals:

  • Expert guidance from a licensed psychotherapist--Author Yoon Im Kane is a Yale University-trained psychotherapist and the founder of Mindful NYC, a psychotherapy center. She provides clear, concise direction and techniques she's honed over more than two decades in practice.
  • Mindfulness basics--Learn how directing your attention to the present moment can help with managing information overload, reconnecting with your body, and instilling more self compassion.
  • Healing exercises--Empower yourself with supportive exercises, like journaling and meditation, that will show you how to ground yourself, respond to difficult feelings, slow racing thoughts, and more.
  • Positive affirmations--Each chapter ends with a positive phrase to bring you into the moment, a verbal touchstone you can repeat whenever you need it, like at the start of your day or before a big meeting.

Mindfully manage your depression and become more positive from the inside out with The Mindfulness Workbook for Depression.

I liked that this book taught me so many things I was unaware of about my self & my mental health. I thought the book could of had a little more activities in it that interested me, but that's just me. I like writing activities. There are many activities to try from simple breathing to more complex activities that are trying things like telling yourself you love yourself in the mirror. This book isn't meant to replace therapy. This book is made to go a long with therapy you are already receiving. Learn how to apply mindfulness to help reduce the severity & duration of your depressive episodes. The book is 162 pages, with 2 pages of resources for you, if you feel you need help with your mental health, and 2 pages for an index. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn more about mental health & tools to help manage it.
