Grain alcohol is one of the first options that comes to mind. If manufactured correctly, moonshine can be used as an alternative fuel source. The majority of gasoline engines on the market right now, will function normally when fed grain alcohol. In some cases, the use of grain alcohol may even produce better fuel mileage, and/or a cleaner running engine. In this book I discuss some of the secrets associated with building a still, which is a device you will need if you want to manufacture grain alcohol to be used as a fuel alternative, or as an item to exchange on a post-apocalypse bartering system.
